Wednesday: Morning Prayer Guide

Tuesday’s Requests:

Thank: God for his provision and sustain hand on our church for the last 100+ years.

Pray: that we follow God’s will into the new year.

Thank: God for his assurance of hearing our prayers.

Praise: God for his unchanging nature and his continuous presence in our lives.

Pray: that our church would remain faithful to his word and calling.

Scripture to guide our prayers:

Psalm 55:16-23

16 As for me, I call to God,
   and the Lord saves me.
17 Evening, morning and noon
   I cry out in distress,
   and he hears my voice.
18 He rescues me unharmed
   from the battle waged against me,
   even though many oppose me.
19 God, who is enthroned from of old,
   who does not change—
he will hear them and humble them,
   because they have no fear of God.

20 My companion attacks his friends;
   he violates his covenant.
21 His talk is smooth as butter,
   yet war is in his heart;
his words are more soothing than oil,
   yet they are drawn swords.

22 Cast your cares on the Lord
   and he will sustain you;
he will never let
   the righteous be shaken.
23 But you, God, will bring down the wicked
   into the pit of decay;
the bloodthirsty and deceitful
   will not live out half their days.
But as for me, I trust in you.

Prayer to the Father:

Father,

 As we begin a new day would we be quick to turn to you in all situations. God thank you for the way that you have taken care of our church for so long. You have given us many faithful men and women to guide and direct us, as they pursued you. God would you continue to give us men and women who are capable to lead but more importantly that desire you above all else. Thank you for entrusting us with your resources. God would are decisions always honor you and seek to make your name great. Be with those that are fasting in our church today, would they feel your sustaining presence throughout the day.

Amen
